The Attitude Of Zuhud According To Hamka In Tafsir Al-Azhar

Every human wants to be happy in this world. Wants to feel safe, peaceful, and quiet. So many various things they do to achieve that happiness. However, their hard work to achieve it in vain because of their lack of knowing. Whereas, the key of the happiness is Zuhud. Many people has violate the meaning of Zuhud word. Because of their mindset that has been contaminated by a bitter history of Islam in the past. Thus they interpret Zuhud is an attitude that distance themselves from worldly things. Because according to them the world and its contents only as a barrier to them to draw closer to God. Actually not so. Here Hamka shows his interpratation that Zuhud is manifastation of faith. So, every body can be zāhid eventhougt he was a rich man. So that this research will focus on analyzing how Hamka‟s thought about Zuhud. Thus, the problem of this research, what is the meaning of Zuhud according to Tafsir Al-Azhār which was written by Hamka, and what is the attitude which appear to person who did Zuhud in Tafsir Al-Azhār. This research under the title The Attitude of Zuhud According to Hamka in Tafsir Al-Azhār is library research, by qualitative method, the researcher collect the data from several source which written by Hamka by thematic method which shows the verses of Zuhud, then analyze it by descriftive analitic of mysticism becouse Zuhud connected by mysticism. The conclution of this research is Zuhud according to Hamka is manifestation of faith. So that the richman can called by zāhid as long as his heart doesn‟t bound with the luxury of world. By this matter zāhid will not exessive in luxury of world, Qana‟ah, patient and Tawakkal in what have Allāh given him.
