Research on biological control of wilt
disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht on Mustard Greens (Brassica campestris var. chinensis) have been
conducted at Vegetable Farm of BBI Horticultura Marpoyan and Pest and
Disease Laboratory of Food Crops and Horticulture Protection Agency in Pekanbaru from April to July 2009.
The aims of this research
were to test some type of antagonists and its combination in controlling wilt
disease caused by F. oxysporum and its impact to the
production and growth of mustard greens. This research used Complete Randomized
Design (CRD) with 9 treatments : A. (Application of Trichoderma harzianum TR01); B.(Application of Gliocladium virens GR01); C.(Application of Pseudomonas fluorescens PR01); D.(Application of T. harzianum TR01+ G.virens GR01); E.(Application of T. harzianum TR01+ P. fluorescens PR01); F.(Application of G. virens GR01+ P. fluorescens PR01); G.(Application of T. harzianum TR01+ G. virens GR01 + P. fluorescens PR01); H.(Application of
synthetic fungicide) and I.(Control ) with 4 replications.
The observed parameters
were percentage of Pre-emergence dumping off and Post-emergence dumping off,
the first of symptom development, the amount of pathogen propagules,
percentage of healthy crop, height of crop and fresh weight of crop. The data
were analyzed statistically with continuation test of Duncan'S New Multiple
Range Test ( DNMRT) at level 0,05.
The result of research
shown that application of a mixture of compatible Trichoderma harzianum TR01, Gliocladium Virens GR01 and Pseudomonas fluorescens was better than other
treatments to suppress the Fusarium oxysporum wilt disease up to 17,56 % and increased the
production of mustard greens up to 54,67 %.
